This hat was going to be named “Whale Tail” for the stitch pattern (and humorous innuendo) but then one snowy afternoon Arya upended me into the snow and absconded with the hat. Since she’s so obviously fond of it, and since I’m releasing it on her birthday, it was only fitting. Instructions are given for changing the brim size, and also for making the beanie or slouchy version :)
You will need:
- One skein of The Blue Brick Killarney Sock. Sample shown in Cobblestone and Succulent.
- 16” circular needles in 3mm and 3.75mm
- Set of four dpns in 3.75mm
- 1 stitch marker
- Tapestry needle for weaving in ends
Gauge:
28 stitches = 4” in stockinette using larger needles
Size:
Brim Circumference: 18” (adjustable)
