Who are we?

The Blue Brick is a small two-person dye shop in Burlington, Ontario. My dad comes in to help us ship and wrangle the puppies. The puppies are basically unemployed, adorable puppervisors (And they're on the logo).

Everything we design and dye is based off our own adentures and photography from around the world. When you buy a skein of yarn from us, you'll get a copy of the photo that inspired it as a keepsake postcard, and whatever you create is the next beautiful chapter in the same endless story of inspiration and discovery.

We have a philanthropy program at The Blue Brick, both ongoing and collection-based. We always make a donation to an organization local to where the photographs come from, to give back to the world that inspires us every day. In addition we support several charities monthly, including Because I am A Girl, Médecins sans frontiéres and Oceana among others.

We wish here to acknowledge the land on which our studio stands:
Land Acknowledgment for the City of Burlington:

Burlington as we know it today is rich in history and modern traditions of many First Nations and the Métis. From the Anishinaabeg to the Haudenosaunee, and the Métis – our lands spanning from Lake Ontario to the Niagara Escarpment are steeped in Indigenous history. The territory is mutually covered by the Dish with One Spoon Wampum Belt Covenant, an agreement between the Iroquois Confederacy, the Ojibway and other allied Nations to peaceably share and care for the resources around the Great Lakes. We would like to acknowledge that the land on which we gather is part of the Treaty Lands and Territory of the Mississaugas of the Credit.
