Kaizen looks complex, but the hardest thing about it is a nifty little 2/2/2 cable. If you can juggle two cable needles, you can tackle this shawl! This was written while training for my third degree black - Kaizen is a Japanese concept representing the strive for continual improvement, however small, as a journey and not a destination. The stitch pattern is adapted from a Japanese stitch dictionary, making Kaizen feel like an appropriate name for this lovely shawl.
You will need:
- 1 Kaizen Kit from The Blue Brick yarn in one of our fingering weights (Huron, Killarney, Manitoulin). Sample shown in the Sea Turtle Kit, in Killarney.
- OR Approximately
- 500 yds of the MC
- 420 yds of CC1, and
- 420 yds of CC2 in a sock weight yarn.
- At least 24” circular needles in 4mm
- 2 stitch markers
- 2 cable needles
- Tapestry needle for weaving in ends
Gauge:
- 24 stitches = 4” in main body stitch pattern
