Berry Vanilla is a richly textured crescent shawl, cast on at the middle and worked outwards in rapidly increasing rows to create a generously sized shawl that is easy and versatile to wear. The ruffled border adds a feminine touch at the end without being overly fussy. Don’t be scared off by those cables, they are very easy and intuitive to work once you get into the rhythm of it, though I do recommend learning to cable without a needle.
Worked in one 500 yard fingering weight skein of The Blue Brick’s Killarney Sock, this shawl is designed to take advantage of the full gradient in the Berry Vanilla colourway, but will also work beautifully with any other gradient or solid yarn. Heavily variegated yarns are not recommended as the texture and colours may compete. Written and charted instructions are provided.
You will need:
500 Yards of sock weight yarn. Sample shown in The Blue Brick’s Killarney Sock, in the colourway ‘Berry Vanilla’.
